Car Seat Headrest: Commit Yourself Completely - Album Cover Redesign & Packaging Concept
This is an officially released live album that I love, but I’ve never been happy with the album cover. I decided to redesign it using my photography of the band on this same tour, and drawing some inspiration from Bob Dylan & The Band’s live album Before The Flood for the main artwork. I also added 1 extra song from my own collection to further personalize it.
The National: Live In London - Design & Packaging Concept
I have a bootleg recording in my collection of The National performing two shows at London’s Alexandra Palace, where they played 58 different songs over two nights- no repeats. It’s a great career-spanning collection, and the audio quality is good enough that it could probably be an official release. However, there was no art to go along with the audio files. Using my own photos of the band from a show a few months before, I created a concept for what the album art, vinyl sleeves & CD packaging could look like for this hypothetical record.
The National: Live in Woodstock - Design & Packaging Concept
This is a recording officially released by the band in a limited quantity, but since I was lucky enough to attend this very show, I wanted to use one of my photos from the performance to personalize the cover in my music collection. I created a new design for the art, and then imagined what the album might look like with my artwork for a wider release.
Flock of Dimes - Live In Brooklyn Cover Art Concept
This recording documents a small show in Brooklyn that I made myself for a friend. As a way to add art and context to the files in my music collection, I created artwork for it using my photography and imagined what it might look like as a physical release.
Hand Lettering
These are some of my favorite examples of my hand lettering drawings over the years.
